Research Methodology
What I Learned in This Course
In this class, I was introduced to how research is done in the health and rehabilitation field. I learned the basic steps of a research study — from creating a research question to collecting data and analyzing it. We also talked about real health issues like chronic diseases and how research helps improve health programs.
I learned how to:
-
Tell the difference between qualitative and quantitative research
-
Use research to study things like health promotion and disease prevention
-
Understand how data and statistics are used in health research
-
Find and use reliable sources for research
Skills I Developed

This class helped me grow in several areas that I’ll use in college and my career:
-
Academic Writing: I improved how I write research papers using APA format and reliable sources (like from the Purdue OWL).
-
Communication: I practiced using clear, professional language in emails and class discussions.
-
Critical Thinking: I learned how to analyze health research and ask thoughtful questions.
-
Time Management: This course made me realize that time management is one of my weak spots. It pushed me to start using calendars and reminders to stay more organized, which I plan to keep using in future classes.
